A - Youth Fair Crafts

Prizes: 1st: $6, 2nd: $4, 3rd: $2

Sections:

1.

Share the oldest school textbook or reader your family has.

Will be judged solely by first date of publishing.

2.

Art – create a watercolour on canvas no larger than 8" x 10" depicting "Homegrown and Handmade".

3.

Penmanship Contest

Write a letter to a pen pal from a different country letting them know about life in Ontario. Check out penpalworld.com and consider actually sending
the letter! Judged solely on penmanship.

4.

Knit anything using needles

5.

Yarn Art

Using nails and yarn create a masterpiece mounted on a wooden plank no larger than 12"x12"

6.

Rock Art – Framed no larger than 8" x 10"

7.

Photo Contest - 5x7 Enlargement.

Demonstrating an Act of Kindness - mounted on black matting/cardstock with a 2" border

8.

In 50 words or less create the best ever excuse for not doing your homework.

9.

Sewing – 2 placemats, any colour or theme

10.

Quilting – 4 coasters, any colour or theme

11.

Rural Life Themed - Digitally Altered Photo - IE Photoshop

5x7 size to be mounted on black cardstock with a 2" border

12.

1 Minute TikTok Video - Theme "Homegrown and Handmade"

Caption must be your exhibitor number for anonymity during judging and must include #thorndaleyouthfair2022

Additional Info:
• Sound can be your own voice or an appropriate existing sound
• Account MUST be public from Sept. 22-26th inclusive for judging/sharing

IMovie - email submission to thorndaleyouthfair@gmail.com by Sept 23 @10am

Create an iMovie trailer to advertise the Thorndale Fair using this year's theme "Homegrown and Handmade"

Submit through YouTube – create channel using your exhibitor # as your display name for anonymity during judging (or temporarily change existing channel to your exhibitor #)
Channel MUST be public from Sept 22-26 inclusive for judging/sharing
IMPORTANT: Must be emailed to thorndaleyouthfair@gmail.com by Friday, September 23 at 10am for judging
