A - Youth Fair Crafts

Prizes: 1st: $6, 2nd: $4, 3rd: $2

Sections:

1.

Share the oldest school textbook or reader your family has.

Will be judged solely by first date of publishing.

2.

Art - create a watercolour on canvas no larger than 8" x 10" depicting "Carnival Lights & Country Nights".

3.

Penmanship Contest

Pretend to write a letter to one of your ancestors telling them about life in 2023. Imagine their surprise to hear about
the many ways your day-to-day life is different from theirs. Judged solely on penmanship.

Knit a sweater for your pet

5.

Yarn Art

Using nails and yarn create a masterpiece mounted on a wooden plank no larger than 12"x12"

Rock Art – Framed no larger than 8" x 10"

Photo Contest - 5x7 Enlargement.

Take a photo in nature that depicts "serenity" - mounted on black matting/cardstock with a 2" border

Back by popular demand - LEGO! - no kits - create a barnyard - no larger than 12"Wx12"Dx12"H

9.

Sewing - make something out of your old jeans - judged on skill and creativity

10.

Quilting - make a purse or wallet - judged on skill and creativity

Rural Life Themed - Digitally Altered Photo - IE Photoshop

5x7 size to be mounted on black cardstock with a 2" border

12.

1 Minute TikTok Video - Theme "Carnival Lights and Country Nights" - Must be live before Sept. 22 @ 10am

Caption must be your exhibitor number for anonymity during judging and must include #thorndaleyouthfair2023

• Account MUST be public from Sept. 22-24th inclusive for judging/sharing

IMovie - email submission to thorndaleyouthfair@gmail.com by Sept 22 @10am

Create an iMovie trailer to advertise the Thorndale Fair using this year's theme "Carnival Lights and Country Nights"

Submit through YouTube – create channel using your exhibitor # as your display name for anonymity during judging (or temporarily change existing channel to your exhibitor #)
Channel MUST be public from Sept 22-24 inclusive for judging/sharing
