Sections 1-10, Prize Money $5, $3, $2
Variety of each must be named or exhibit may be disqualified.
- Fall Wheat, 1/2 bushel
- Barley, 1/2 bushel
- Field Beans, 1/2 bushel (blacks, whites, crans, kidneys, etc)
- Soyabeans, 1 bundle (15 plants)
- Hybrid Corn, 10 ears
- Baled Hay, 1st cutting, 6" slice
- Baled Hay, 2nd cutting, 6" slice
- Ensilage Corn, 1/2 bushel
- High Moisture Corn, 1/2 bushel
- Haylage, 1/2 bushel
37 - Field Crops
- Exhibits to remain until 4:30 pm Sunday
- Ensilage Corn, Grain Corn, Hay - 1st Cutting, Soyabeans
Crop will be scored while standing in the field near maturity.
Consideration given to the purity of variety in oats, freedom from weeds and
other plants, freedom from plant diseases and insects, stand, vigour of
crop, trimmed headlands, fence rows, etc. Field score based on 100 points.
Exhibit score 50 points.
Each competitor will be required to exhibit at the Fair any three of the
following:
- Ensilage corn - one sheaf (12 stalks), variety named
- Grain corn - 10 ears, variety named
- Hay - 1st cutting, 6" slice of bale or 1 bushel chopped
- Soyabeans - one bundle (15 plants), variety named
- Winter Wheat - 1 sheave, 25 heads
- Field Beans - 15 plans
Prizes for each competition: $19, $18, $17, $16, $15, $14, $13, $12, $11,
$10
- Field Crop Champion: Field crop exhibitor with the highest aggregate
score. Trophy and $100
- Field Crop 1st Runner Up - $50
- Field Crop 2nd Runner up - $50
- Soyabean Competition - Prizes and Judges provided by Elliott Grain
